Jalan2 di Aussie [part 2:PICASSO]

Last week, on the 7th, i went to GoMA (Gallery of Modern Art), Brisbane to see Pablo Picasso's personal art collection. Picasso is such a huge name in arts and this is the first time that the collection of his is shown outside of Europe. therefore, arts' lovers (or anyone) from Australia should not miss it..together with my beloved Salina n Emy Winchester, we went there around 1230pm. we already had the passes, so we saved at least 15mins for the tickets.. thanKS to Margaret, my landlord who is so kind that she gave us the passes... and the best part was, they're member's passes!! cool...

just for a record, 5days before, i had a chance to go to see Sidney Nolan's collection. its such a nice collection and i fell in love with lots of d paintings. there was at least one single meaning of each of them but they're pretty easy to be interpreted. had a chance to walk closely and view them all in personal. and they're really really fascinating! Nolan's collection has been put in a storyline which portrays 60% of his life...well, after finished my tour in that gallery, went back home with an admiration.. thats when i realised i do like paintings!! and for that reason, i was so excited to go to Picasso's as its just around the corner... and as i've mentioned earlier---i had a free pass, so why on earth should i miss it?!

Started the tour with Picasso's chronology of life...and lots of info i have got n d conclusion that i can make is that Picasso's collection is based on friendship and learning others' paintings. just to name few of his friends like Matisse, Renoir and Fernandez..lots of paintings r theirs..Picasso collected lots of his friends' paintings and as a return, he gave his paintings. that has varied the themes in his collection. compared to Nolan's, i think Picasso's collection is harder to be interpreted. i need at least 5 minutes for an individual painting to actually got its meaning.


and thats why i spent almost 4hours in there until i found myself at the exit door.. and before we went out, we had a chance to be in Children's Art Centre- Yo Picasso Kids. Salina and Emy wanted to draw something as a mark that they were in Picasso's and there they're drawing with enthusiasm.. as for me, i just came out with this... not really artistic huh!!

after that, went to city to catch the bus back home.. pretty tiring but it worths.. and i just smile when i told my VIP about this tour. and he said, he'll get one of the famous paintings for me...LOL!!!
